SYTYCD: Performance Finale

Eek!! It's finally here! I will say that I'm genuinely happy no matter who wins. I may have a favorite (Hi Kent!) but the top three really are the top 3, if we ignore the fact that Alex should be there.  And we will ignore it because it's not fair to the other three. Alright, enough chit chat.... Let's get to the show.

(But first, flashback through the season! I want to rewatch so many of these dances. Thankfully Kelli is here and missed some dances over the past few weeks so I may have to show her! Darn...)

KENT- Allstar: Lauren. Choreo: Nakul Dev Mahaan. Style: Bollywood. Not always a fan of Bollywood, but it's ard not to be a fan of these two. My fav current contestant and one of my fav past dancers. But it we are going techincally, I think that this could have been done a lot better. Especially if Kent didn't almost drop Lauren at the end. Mia called it Kentish, which it was, if we all can agree one what Kentish means. And I'm sure we do.

LAUREN- Allstar: Twitch. Choreo: NappyTabs. Style: HipHop. Love the campaign commericals in the rehersals. That was a fun routine. I think that was the best dance with a girl for Twitch (not counting Katee in Mercy) since Kherrington. They did a very strong dance. Occassionally they were a little off, but overall it was a solid hip hop routine for her and I am proud that sweet little Lauren just pulled that off. (And amen to what Mia said - NappyTabs have been insane this season!!)

ROBERT- Allstar: Mark. Choreo: Tyce DiOrio. Style: Jazz. First of all this being done to Whip It, so it's got to be fun, right? I've been saying Robert will be the new Mark all season, so having these two dance together is awesome. And I can barely tell who is who, which that is the biggest compliment I can give Robert, I think. So happy he is in the finale to dance this. Cat Deely just did her Adam Ant impersonation which I think will be the winner of most bizzare thing to happen on this episode. Nevermind... Adam just said he was going to throw up in happiness. These guys are whack.

Ok..... my favorite moment of the season: Cat making kissy noises about Kent's kiss with Lauren. And then saying how he stayed in character which he responded with this witty remark, "You know what they say about great actors.............." with no finish. Awesome.

LAUREN & ROBERT. Choreo: Dee Casprey. Style: Contemporary. I'm hoping Robert doesn' try to smother Lauren with the pillow. There are lots of witness Robert. I'm not sure I totally understood the routine, however but I thought it was a beautiful routine nontheless. And it was danced gorgeously. That jump into the pillow was awesome and scary. I thought he was going to drop her. (Kelli said I'm such a mom) Not about the dance: I want Mia to come up with some new adjectives before next summer if she comes back as a judge.

LAUREN (again!) & KENT. Choreo: Mandy Moore. Style: Jazz. I love that no one will ever let the fact that Kent kissed Lauren go. Ever. Seriously, I think we will be talking about this during season 10! There are lots of "Kent Faces" happening, but it's a Huey Lewis number, so it seems hard to avoid, doesn't it? That was a really cute routine. It wasn't the best ever, especially compared to the other things we have seen tonight. I think as far as cute routines go, Billy's converse routine was better. Also, Mia just freaked me out with the glasses! I thought I was going crazy and she had been wearing them the whole time. Don't do that Mia. I'm already losing my mind without your help!

KENT: Allstar: Alison. Choreo: Stacey Tookey. Style: Contemporary. There is always that contemporary routine that is moving in a way that really effects the dancer, and this was it for Kent, finally. He was so moved that he literally lost himself in it. He is amazing and even Mia loves him, because she has been his harshest critic. And then Adam just blew a gasket over the fact that Kent is now an artist. I want to hug Kent, sad face Kent is making me sad. Love it.  And I love that Alison is so there for him right now.

Lauren! (Notice Kent's sad face went away when we started talking about the prom dance again??) She is impossibly cute. I hate it. Or love it. Whatever

ROBERT. Allstar: Kathryn. Choreo: Spencer Liff. Style: Broadway.  I love when Robert makes the shock face! When he broke the chair - too funny! Great routine. Every move was very strong and sharp which was important for the dance to work. HAA! Robert's ripped pants (and his subsequent face when showing it off to the audience) made me giggle. This was another really solid routine. I'm feeling like this blog is really boring this week because it's just me saying "great routine" over and over again. Sigh....

LAUREN. Allstar: Pasha. Choreo: Tony Meredith & Melanie Lapatin. Style: ChaCha. Being the only girl left in the competition for awhile now, Laruen has had the chance to dance with Pasha several times. I really don't think Lauren is upset about it. That was a really well danced routine. It is hard to look bad when Pasha is on the floor. Of course it is hard to notice anyone else when Pasha is basically shirtless as well..... Anywho.... I think that it's hard to say anything bad about Lauren anymore. She is very confident. And Mia just said if she was still dancing she would want to dance like Lauren. Can't top that.

ROBERT & KENT.Choreo: Ummmm. I missed it. They are pretty Latino names. Sorry. Style: Malevos. The boy/boy routine have been some of my favoite this season, so I'm excited. It's a little hard because Robert looks so much manlier than Kent, who is very much a little boy still. However, dancewise, they were both very strong. They are great. I really have nothing more to say.

Like the judges, it's just a big lovefest for me tonight. I wish this could be a threeway tie. I have never had a season finale like this. In previous seasons, I have had finales where I thought one person should have one. Or alternately, that one person should absolutely not win. But this year - just perfection across the board. Best final group ever, and they are the youngest!!

Who is your favorite? Do you care who wins? What dances are you hoping to see tomorrow? Have you heard who is replacing Alex in the the Twitch routine? If not I won't spoil.

Comment away, people!!

Week in Review: 8/1-8/7

I am really getting into my summer shows, that I have almost forgotten how much I am looking forward to fall. Oh summer season, how I love your existence.

RUBICON: Listen, I have little to no idea what is going on with this show. It's all very hush and mysterious. What I do know: so far I am completely hooked, due in no small part to the wonderful James Badge Dale (Leckie on The Pacific). This show is, at the very least, interesting enough keep me coming back if only to figure out what the hell is going on. Note to the producers: make this mystery a one season thing. Then come up with something new for next season. Given his line of work, that makes sense, and it will keep the current mystery from getting too convoluted. (Yes, I'm sure the producers are reading this!)

MAD MEN: It's Christmas in August (at least for us) at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. And once again, that means quiet genius from the wonder that is Matthew Weiner. At the start of the episode Don's secretary brings him a letter to Santa c/o Don Draper from Sally. It starts out with Sally saying she knows Don is Santa but that she thought it was best to keep up the ruse (or "roose") for Bobby. But when it gets to the end of the letter, she says she really just wishes her dad would be there to celebrate with them Christmas morning, even though she knows he can't be. I could hear Don's heart break. But he did get them some awesome gifts, including The Beatles EPs for Sally. Score! The love for Don grew even more when Don quietly said "Merry Christmas, Sweetheart" to Peggy. Such a small gesture, but completely repersentative of their mentor/protege relationship. And while the episode was heavy on the Yuletide moments, it was also full of laughs thanks to the most bizarre Christmas party ever. But still a hit, because Joan Holloway is the greatest woman ever.

COVERT AFFAIRS: Question before we get to the episode- Why is it Burn Notice is in season 4 and still feels the need to do a full exposition before every episode about Michael being a burned spy, but we are only on episode 4 of Covert Affairs and we don't even get a "previously on?" I don't really need the exposition for either show (it annoys the hell out of me on Burn Notice) but I find it funny that USA is very inconsistent with them. Psych: no. Royal Pains: yes. White Collar: no. Choose a format! Anywhoooo...... great episode! I loved the Oded Fehr character of the Israeli spy. Hope they make use of him again. And I like that Annie has apparently learned from previous experiences! Last time she trusted the MI-6 implicitly and he turned out to be a double agent, so she was wary of this guy when things started going wonky. Good girl, Annie! Loved the Langely storyline too. We all knew Auggie wasn't going to be the leak. But who is? Only down note of this episode: no Anne Dudek!

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: This show has it's finale tomorrow. I'm so sad. It is beyond campy, but oh so addictive! And I can't help it, but I'm totally rooting for Ezra and Aria to get back together. It may be wrong, but I don't care. He is hot. HA! Does anyone else like this show? Am I crazy? These questions are not necessarily related.

WHITE COLLAR: Finally- an episode that focused on Mozzie! He is adorable. And as it turns out, very sweet. I loved that he had a crush on the waitress. I loved that somehow Elizabeth knew this. I loved that Mozzie didn't want Neal to meet her because then he would just be the "quirky friend." And I love that Peter worked so hard to help him, because despite all arguments to the contrary, I think Peter and Moz do like each other! It was an all around fun episode. The one thing I don't love - the bizzare green screen stuff for Tiffani Theissen. I have a feeling it has something to do with her maternity leave, but it sucks and I just want her back to normal in her house with Peter and Neal!!

PSYCH: John Michael Higgins is one of the funniest actors around, and his turn on Psych lived up to it. I cracked up so many times during this ep, especially during Shawn's speech at the final meeting at the end of the show. His half arguments with JMH were hysterical. But nothing was as awesome as the random Willy Wonka reference. And for those who didn't catch it the first time around, it was at the end of Shawn's apology letter, "Good Day sir. I said good day!"

MEMPHIS BEAT: This episode was titled "Suspicious Minds" so right at the start I said that if Jason Lee didn't sing that song in this ep, I was going to be pissed. It's one of my favorite Elvis tunes. Thankfully, he did towards the end. But it was a scary 50 minutes before we got there! This episode also started a new storyarc: apparently Dwight's dad was a dirty cop. Poor Dwight. Can't wait to see where that goes.

ROYAL PAINS: Down with Dr. Emily Peck!! I'm done with the character and the storyline. The only good thing to come out of it is that it has forced an actual solid friendship between Jill and Divya. In less annoying relationship news: hurray for Evan and Paige moving into a real relationship not based on Evan being paid.

DARK BLUE: This show is back, and I'm watching even tho last season was ok at best. However it has a lot of people I like (Tre from The OC! Meg from Supernatural! Dylan McDermott's blue eyes!). Although the producers apparently have learned a little something from other shows? How do you take an ok show and make it ten times better? Add Tricia Helfer!! I'm not completely sold on her character, but I think she is amazing, and you can bet I'll be turning in for another week to see how it goes.

BURN NOTICE: Jon Seda!!!!!  That's all.

SYTYCD: Hallelujah, America. You got it right! I can't wait for this finale! I am more excited for this one than any other in a long time! If only Alex was still in it. Of course, that would be Robert probably wouldn't be, but still...... Beyond excited for this week!!

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: I didn't care about high school football when I was in high school, but damn if I wasn't crying like a little girl when Landry hit that 45 yard field goal to clinch the East Dillon Lions win over the Dillon Panthers. If you had told me a few years ago that I would ever root against those boys in blue, well I never would have believed you. Jason Katmis is a wonderful showrunner that has proven that even during the toughest times in Dillon, football heals all. They just finished filming the next (and final) season of FNL a couple weeks ago. It isn't airing on NBC until 2012, but I literally can not wait. I just want to see Tim Riggins get out of jail. And for all our old favorites to return for the finale. If you have never watched this show, I beg you, take the next year and check it out before the final season airs. There may be no saving the show, but that doesn't mean the final season can't have great numbers!

Alright, that's it for this week!!

Comment away! Please!

TRUE BLOOD: Night on the Sun

I'm sorry for the lapse in True Blood blogs! But I am back!! How great is this season? I will say the only issue I am having is my own problem- I know what is coming up (generally) with some of characters and I am just so anxious for the storylines to catch up to what I know is about to happen!! Especially Jason and Sookie (in regards to the "what is she" arc, which is not actually in the book).

But nevermind where we are going, let's go over what happened last night.

Let's start with those who were essentially on their own tonight. First up, Arlene. Arlene is another example of how the books occasionally interfere with how I interpret the characters on TV. Or at least create an argument in my head in how I feel about a character. In the books I really really don't like Arlene, however, in no small part to Carrie Preston, I find Arlene hysterical on the show. She can be awful, but she cracks me up, which is why I felt so bad when she dreamt about Rene. It is bad enough the girl is pregnant with a killer's baby, does she really need the guilty dreams. Although I dread the day that Terry founds out. We also saw that Arlene helped to hire a new waitress, Holly, who I can asure you, like everyone else in Bon Temps, is more than she seems. And thankfully Arlene has already forbidden Sam from sleeping her. Good call!

Lafayette had his hands busy with his mom, Rose, who snuck out of the institution to protect her son from the Vampires and Witches. Of course this means that Lafayette gets a visit from Rose's caretaker, Jesus. Last time these two were together Jesus discovered part of Lafayette's income comes from the sale of drugs. Color Jesus disappointed. But nothing brings two people together like a stressful situation, and Mom on the run is one of them. So thankfully these two are back together now. You may not have protected him from Vamps, Rose, but at least you provided an excuse for Jesus to come visit. Well done! Thought on Jesus --- he spent some time talking about Lafayette's "aura" and "power." Maybe he has something in common with Holly?? Book readers?? It sure would help to weave Jesus/Lafayette into season 4's inevitable storyline if they are both (PLEASE!) still around.

Jason is awful mad at Bill (I know... I'm out of order here but this is still the easiest way to blog this show! You all know why he is mad, we will get there soon) and Sookie doesn't seem to want to punish Bill, so Jason breaks out some of his Fellowship of the Sun souvenirs. But before he can make use of them there is a frantic knock on the door. It's Crystal, soaking wet. She swam to Jason's to escape her now ex-finace who beat her. Jason of course makes Crystal "his girl," you know, by sleeping with her. And then goes to Hotshot to tell her father, Calvin Norris, to back the eff off. Oh Jason.... if only you knew.

Sam is busy dealing with Tommy. He sent away Melinda, and has Tommy still working at Merlottes. And while he seems glad to help his younger brother out, I think that he is realizing quickly that Tommy may be even more trouble that he anticipated. And Tommy is trying to keep Hoyt and Jessica apart, which is just plain wrong, dammit. Sam also has a run in with Calvin, who is on the hunt for Crystal, and Tommy and Sam smell something about him..... duh.

Speaking of Jessica, she is more than happy to see Bill come home. Except when he tries to release her from him.... then she freaks. She is just a baby vamp and needs some training. Boy does he give it to her. But more on that in a minute.

Meanwhile in Mississippi, Russell moved the Queen into the mansion, much to Talbot's chagrin. But Russell made quite clear how important Talbot was to him, in front of Eric which is going to turn out to be a big mistake. Russell also dealt with a very upset Debbie Pelt who wanted to take revenge on Sookie and Alcide for killing Coot (RIP Coot). Eric reminded the king just how important our Miss Stackhouse is, so while Russell gives Debbie the go ahead to "play" with Sookie, he agrees not to kill her. (more later on this part of the story) When Russell goes off to deal with Sookie, Eric agrees to entertain Talbot. Said entertainment includes a game of chess (Eric wins), some kissy time with a shirtless Eric (woo), and then Eric staking Talbot in the back. (I had so many inapporpriate jokes to make at this, but I really just can't do it in the blog. However those who know me best are sure to be able to fill in the proverbial blanks here) Russell feels this and flies back from Sookies house - just in the nick of time, as it turns out. More on that in a minute as well.

Let's get back to the start of the episode. Sookie has just woken up from a dream/vision where she met Claudine, her.... well, I won't spoil Claudine's identity. But I will say she is not a one episode character. Claudine told Sookie to stay away from Bill because he will steal her light. (Like the island?? Is Bill the smoke monster?? Is Sookie Jacob?? Sigh.... I'm still mourning LOST.) When Sookie woke up and saw Bill she screamed her Sookie scream. Tara, Jason and Alcide all but staked Bill right there, but Sookie wanted to talk to him, and Lafayette, the voice of reason, told them if that is what she wants she should be able to talk to him. So Bill and Sookie break up because they realize they just can't work out and will only bring misery to each other. Sad face/bloody tears. Everyone has the "good riddance" attitude about it, especially Tara and Jason. Tara even calls her a stupid bitch if she goes back to Bill. Oh Tara, you have such a way with words. (I didn't mention Tara... not much happened to her other than reacting to Bill/Sookie.  Oh, and you know, having sex dreams about Franklin. Whoops!) Alcide has to leave Sookie, for now. But they have a moment before he leaves. (Alcide is another example of loving the show more than the book. Joe Manganiello is yum!) Sookie is on her own, waiting for the inevitable arrival of Russell. But before he comes she gets a visit from cousin Hadley who tells her that Eric said not to trust Bill. And she almost escapes Sookie's house without saying anything else, but that pesky brain of her thought about telling Eric "what Sookie is." Sookie is interested to know!! But before she can deal with that, she needs to deal with the werewolves that are invading her house. Luckily Bill and newly trained Jessica are there to help. They take the weres, but that leaves Debbie to fight Sookie. I was nervous Debbie would die here, because I think it is muy importante that Alan Ball leaves Debbie's story arc intact. (Agreed, book readers?) And thankfully she made it out alive, but with a mighty large cut on her face thanks to Sook. Before Russell can kill Jessica/take Sookie he flies off (thanks, Eric!) and Jess runs after a were (she gets him. You go girl). Then Bill and Sookie make like Buffy and Spike and have the ultra violent make up sex. Thankfully no head turning a la Lorena. Or house destroying a la Buffy and Spike. Of course the house is once again destroyed, so who can tell.

Oh... my favorite line of the week was Jason to his own subconscious: "Don't think, Brain"  Jason, you are all kinds of dumb. And I love you for it.

Next week..... madness!! Duh!

What say you, Trubies? Another wonderful week? Or disappointed? Comment away!

SYTYCD: Top 4 perform

Ok, I have a confession to make. I voted a bunch last night even though I'm just watching this in the morning. I want Robert and Kent to make the finals. Plus I have read an endless amount of praise for Kent's routine that Travis choreographed. I am beyond excited to see that one. One of the press people who were at the taping said they told Kent it made them cry and he hugged her. I want a hug from Kent. He's adorable.  I have endless love for that kid. Anywhoooooo........  I suppose I should talk about the actual episode. Whatever.

OOOO!!! Tyce DiOrio is a guest judge. I hope he snaps and says something ridiculous.  Of course he will. See! He just did, right off the bat.

First up we have a group Broadway number with Tyce as Choreo. I think this is the youngest group ever. At least in behavoir. These kids are nutty. I think this was inevitably going to be a Lauren showcase. As the only girl, she kind of had to be the focus in some respect, right? But like Tyce just said, I think Kent did the best.(Side note: the costume designer just won an emmy, and while sometimes I think she is on crack, this number shows why she won. The polka dot theme is adorable. It effectively pulls together all four outfits without being overwhelming.  And that concludes my Nina Garcia moment for the day.)

LAUREN: Allstar: Pasha. Choreo: Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo. Style: Argentinian Tango. Ahhhh..... Pasha. Oh, Lauren is here too.  Just kidding. She is doing really well at the whole sexy seduction thing. I almost forget she is 18. That was my favorite Tango, I think. Somewhere Anya is jealous. I love that Lauren can do that dance and then giggle like the 18 year old she is. (Adam just asked Nigel to marry him. Awesome.)

Okay- I've always thought that Lauren seems a little Buffy-esque.  (Specifically season 1&2 when Buffy was still in HS and wanting to be about boys and giggling) And then they were just showing Lauren's old audition footage from when she was in high school... and their mascot is a demon. Hmmmmmm.....

ADECHIKE. Allstar: Lauren. Choreo: Sean Cheesman. Style: African Dance. Again, Lauren the Allstar in all styles! Lauren's hair is very Captain Jack Sparrow in this number.  And why is Adechike wearing a shrug?  I have no idea what the judges are about to say, but I'm not totally digging on this routine. I think that it was sort of meh. It was danced fine. (Great by Lauren, ok by Adechike) Not that I wish bad things for Adechike (OK... I do want him to be voted off tonight, but I think he is a lovely boy) but I am glad I'm not alone in not loving this routine. Off-topic, slightly... Does anyone else think that Lauren is the Grace to Tyce's Will?

ROBERT. Allstar: Anya. Choreo: Jonathan Roberts. Style: Vienesse Waltz. If Anya is saying that this choreo is difficult, that is saying something. The photoshop of Robert's crazy face on Pasha's body may be my favorite thing all season. I love Robert. (Emily is watching with me and she just said, "Where is Kent? I want to see Kent dance." That's my girl. But she did just say she likes this guy and Anya is super pretty.) Robert did a really great job. You can see how he has gotten used to the frame you need to have for ballroom. And he is pretty.  Super pretty. We need to move on.

Hey! Robert lives with Channing. She was really good and voted off too soon. Hey, we are still talking about Robert. He is still pretty. Seriously, guys.  Cut to commercial. Ah! He just gave Travis a shout out. Sigh.....

KENT. Allstar: Courtney. Choreo: Doriana Sanchez. Style: Disco. Kent just said that Disco is a lot of shiny clothes. Kent just said Studio 54 is a rehersal space. AHAHAHAHA! What a goober. I think Courtney is going to have a concussion. OOOOO Court's hair is super fab. Considering Kent has more energy than anyone in the world, I almost thought that was a slightly slow disco. But, as Kent said, he isn't big. Sweet boy. And I agree with Cat, that last lift gave me a heart attack.

I want to adopt Kent. And if I can't adopt him, can I please have even a fraction of his energy. Seriously. Is there a more genuine person??

LAUREN. Allstar: Ade. Choreo: Sean Cheesman. Style: Jazz. Another seduction piece for Lauren. Holy shiz, what is she wearing?? Her father must be having a heart attack. While I don't think this will be a routine a remember for a long time (except maybe the crazy outfit) I do think it was really well danced and well choreographed. Tyce is snapping.  And Adam is now saying he wants to hire her. (He is going to be directing an episode of Glee in the first half of the season.  I would look for this HS age girl to possibly be a dancer in the episode. Just saying....)

ADECHIKE. Allstar: Kathryn. Choreo: Dwight Rohden & Desmond Richardson. Style: I missed the style. It seems to be contemporary mix.  Maybe it is because my kids were fighting through the whole thing but that seemed really long. Again it was a great routine that was danced OK, but not great by Adechike. Let me just say now, if the top 3 includes Adechike, I'm gonna be annoyed. Not because he isn't talented, but because he is not as versatile and talented as the other 3.

ROBERT: Allstar: Dominic. Choreo: Tabitha and Napoleon. Style: Hip Hop.  Uh oh, clowns. Scary. Seriously. Super creepy. If Robert isn't in the top I'm gonna be so mad! Look at him! Viennese Walt and Hip Hop!! And both done really well! I like how Dom seemed unsure if he was going on tour. Like Nigel just asked for the first time now! What a weirdo. This was a very fun routine and Robert did so great! He was very Mark-esque.

KENT: Allstar: Neil. Choreo: Travis. Style: Contemporaray. I'm so excited right now. Wow....... That was an amazing piece. Somehow Travis knows how to create pieces that transcend the competition.  And Neil and Kent are amazing together. They should dance all the time. Between the baseball routine and that, there is no question of their chemistry together. Just gorgeous. I really wish I had someone to go to the tour with me for those two dances alone. If Kent doesn't make it to next week......  well, I think you know how I feel about it. As Tyce says, "Are you kidding me?"

Well..... What did you all think? Who do you want as the top three? What was your favorite routine? Who wants to help me kidnap Kent and Robert? What? Who said that?

Comment me!

Week in Review 7/25-7/31

Man, I have been busy! I'm still not completely caught up on all of my TV. But I guess I should get this out there for the few of you that are interested! :)

MAD MEN: WOOOOOO!!! So excited that this show is back. There is something just heartbreaking and beautiful about this show. I could literally just watch them sit there and smoke and drink and be completely entertained. Things aren't perfect at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, but they are certainly better than working out of a hotel room! I can't wait to see more. Especially just to see what trouble Joan will get into/prevent others from getting into. She is one of the greatest characters on television.  Oh, and also exciting -Sarah Newlin!!

ARMY WIVES: This show is cheesy and all, but I LOVED seeing Godfather from Band of Brothers back in uniform (yes, Army instead of Marines this time, but still... fatigues nonetheless). Only issue: he had his full voice. I miss that Godfather scratchiness.

MY BOYS: While not as exciting as Mad Men's return, the premiere of My Boys brought me much joy. I was nervous because Jim Gaffigan was not back this season, but it turns out the show is just as funny without him. And then handled his departure so well - he took a promotion to China, and then everyone got to do their best Jim Gaffigan impersonation to talk about why they do/don't miss him. This show is just plain fun, but I have to say I'm torn. The two leads have shows on NBC next season.... This means My Boys has to go if these shows get picked up with them still in the leads.  Hmmmm....

ENTOURAGE: I love Sloane. I once saw a poll that had her has best girlfriend on television. I agree. How she puts up with any of the crap the boys pull is beyond me!

RIZZOLI AND ISLES: Normally I do not like Lorraine Bracco. I've always found her grating, but I ADORE her on this show! Maybe it's because I grew up on the east coast and knew those moms. Love it. I also really enjoyed Donnie Whalberg, and now kinda want his show on CBS with Tom Selleck to fail just so he can come back on here. Sorry, Magnum.

HUGE: Nevermind the storyline this week (adorable) the best part of this show was "Phantasma" - this show's version of Twilight, but with a ghost instead of a vampire. They showed about a total of 5 minutes of clips from this fake movie during the episode and it had me CRACKING UP! The chic said "irrevocably" like 5 times. And then they did the scene in the woods where he makes her say what he is. It was great. While I enjoy Twilight, I also enjoy a good Twilight mockery. Because, let's face it, that is a cheesy movie!

MAKE IT OR BREAK IT: The episode: cute. Lauren Gottleib's dancing in her guest appearance: fan-friggin-tastic. She is the best! THE BEST!

LOUIE: I've mentioned before that the show is just plain wrong. Well if you want to understand just how wrong - watch the clip with the heckler from last week's episode.  Wow. Just wow. I was in shock. And then once you get over that - the second half of the episode guest stars Matthew Broderick. Is there any actor more adorable.

WAREHOUSE 13: There was an Original Ray's shout out on this episode. I'm hungry.

WHITE COLLAR: This episode was one of the most fun we've had on the show in a long time. There is nothing more adorable that Neal's face when he is being flattered through imitation. He is very proud of what he does. There is something to be said for that right? Even if what he does is forgery/theivery??  Right? Ah well.... he's pretty, so we let it go.

TOP CHEF: Alex stole the pea puree. I know it, Ed knows it, the other 8 contestants know it, and so does anyone that watched it. Well almost anyone. Last I saw the poll on if you thought Alex stole the pea puree had more than 90% of people saying yes. Did you see his "confessional" footage. He couldn't even look at the camera! He looked and sounded guilty. And there was no footage of him shelling peas, let alone putting them in a blender or pouring them out of a blender or anything!!! But what we did get out of this episode: Ed's a classy guy. Good for him for keeping his mouth shut. After this episode I can't wait for the reunion episode! Andy Cohen is going to be all over this!

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE: Mia's opening group number (The boys plus Alison to Every Little Thing She Does is Magic) was the best group number this season. Top 3 of the series I think. I really really loved it. As for the results. Glad Jose is gone. As for Billy.... rather him over Lauren/Robert, but wish Adechike had gone instead. As for why Lauren was in the bottom- I think once Cat said she may have been hurt probably hurt the voting for Lauren. Injury=exit on the show, so people probably just gave up.

ROYAL PAINS: Hey! Bill Belamy! Anywho..... that was a fun episode.

PROJECT RUNWAY: It's back! And it's too soon to judge how I feel about the new season.  Quick reaction- favorites: Christopher and Peach. While I didn't like her outfit too much, I also like Sarah because she did costumes for The Guild. Losers: Jason and Casanova. If anyone says different they are stupid. That's right. Stupid. That's all I got. If you want to read a good Project Runway blog, read Jennifer Eolin's blog. She's awesome and funny.

AUSTIN AND SANTINO ON THE ROAD: From minute one I was in love with this show. These guys in the car is worth tuning in for. But then when they were making the dress and Santino told Austin "I don't know how to quit you," well, I almost peed my pants. At least we know if PR ever starts to disappoint, we have these guys to cheer us up!

BOSTON MED: Oh the tears when the parents took baby Michael to surgery.  I'm never having another kid. I can't take it.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: This show can be so hard to watch sometimes. I think I have an ulcer from watching this show it is so nerve wracking! But I adore it. And for all the times it makes me cringe (Looking at you JD and Joe McCoy) there are plenty of laughs. And this week was one of the best - the East Dillon Lions literally covering the Dillon Panther's field with toothpicks sticking out of the grass was the best prank ever. You go, Landry.

Alright.... that's it this week. Comment me so I can feel loved. :)

PSYCH: Not Even Close... Encounters

I've read a lot of good reviews of this episode, so I'm excited to watch!! Plus who doesn't love a good alien show.

Young Shawn in the start of episode flashbacks is starting to get a little too tall to be young Shawn. Wonder what they plan on doing about that. It's like Walt on LOST!

Hmmmm.... while I'm sure this won't turn out to be an alien encounter, I'm very interested to see where this episode goes, because the craziness happening at this rich guy's house (wind, lights, his assisitant getting on some sort of aircraft with an alien looking dude and then flying off) seems pretty Close Encounters to me!

Next morning... Henry is doing a ride-along with Jules and Lassiter. Apparently Lassiter isn't happy about it because he leaves Henry locked in the door. But he leaves the windows cracked, so that makes it ok, of course! These three don't seem to be buying the story, and who would? Oh wait... Shawn and Gus of course! "Ok people, we are going to need a Speak 'N' Spell and seven pounds of mashed potatoes." Shawn and Gus are hired onto the case since they believe him. Henry tells them they shouldn't do it because if they start saying aliens abducted a guy, everyone would think they were nuts and Henry couldn't hire them at the SBPD anymore. Unfortunately all signs lead to alien (broken lights, circle on the lawn), so I have a feeling they may be saying just that, out loud... emphasis on the loud.

Of course, Shawn is smarter than this (he is Henry's son afterall) and tells Gus that of course Toby was not abducted by aliens. It's never the crazy suspect (Like the devil or a mummy in previous cases). But I don't think that it's going to stop them from saying it to anyone else. I'm excited for all the inevitable ear flicking that will come from Gus and Shawn agreeing to flick if the other starts leaning towards alien as the answer. Shawn finds a recording device with the sounds of the "alien spaceship" on it, so they go to consult an expert aka their geeky friend from school.

(OMG, the use of the Close Encounters of the Third Kind music in the scene transitions is making me geek out.)

Geeky friend, Dennis, is.... Freddie Prinze Jr!!  By the way - he's always seemed geeky to me, so I buy this. I mean come on... he's married to friggin Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He's gotta be a little geeky, right?? And on the show he is married to someone equally hot. And he claims not to be a geek anymore. I think he's lying. HAHA. And his secret lair seems to prove that I'm right. Holy crap that is both awesome and scary! Captain Adama's helmet from the original BSG and Geordie's glasses from Star Trek: TNG!! You know how I said I was geeking out before? I lied... NOW I'm geeking out! I love this guy! Anyway, Dennis says it does soud like an alien, but to check he makes use of the National Weather Service Radar he hacked into a few years back. He is handy. Whadda know, something flies across the screen causing sweet Dennis to have an asthma attack.

Gus and Shawn both now believe that Toby was abducted by aliens, but don't want to admit it. That turns out to be too bad because Roy decides to go on the news to announce Toby's abduction and thank Shawn and "Gurton Buster" for their work. "Oh my god. I look like KD Lang" (Shawn's pic on the news is not fab!) Of course, Henry immediately calls them down to the station where he informs them that Roy is a nutcase who has psychotic breaks if he misses his meds.  But Shawn and Gus are staying the course.

Shawn: The only thing we were blinded by was...
Gus: Science! (I wish I could describe the hand gesture that went with this!!)
Shawn: That never gets old.
Gus: Nope!

Not helping Shawn and Gus: Toby is in the conference room saying that he took a cab to his parents house, turned off his phone and went to bed.  Hmmmmm.....

Toby is saying that Roy was muttering something about lights and aliens, but just shrugged it off. Everyone at the SBPD are laughing at Shawn and Gus. Lassiter is doing a little dance in happiness. I am happy. Gus decides that Toby is just lying because he is an up and comer at a law firm. Why would he be honest about an alien abduction?  AHHH! Even better than Lassiter's dance: Gus mocking Shawn's "I have a clue face" when he tells Shawn he saw the markings on Toby's arm! I love these guys!!! Since Shawn doesn't believe that it was aliens, and Gus still does, they go to a third, but hardly impartial party: Dennis.

Dennis of course thinks it is an abduction. However, when Shawn sees that Toby is going to get all of Roy's cases, he decides that Toby did this to Roy (remember, Toby picked up Roy's meds) and sets out to prove it. But first they need disguises! Cue the inevtiably use of Geordie's glasses and Adama's Shawn and Gus go to talk to Toby, but Shawn still doesn't believe it was aliens. ("Someone needs to hold the sanity bag in this partnership. And, frankly, I miss the days when it used to be you!") I'm guessing they won't get to talk to Toby as he just landed on the pavement in front of them. Ew.

Hey it's Jules! I miss you. Jules tells the guys that an hour before his death Toby transfered all the money in his account (a half million) to a charity. So looking like a suicide. But Shawn is saying that it seems weird - why would a Jr. Associate have that sort of money. Henry won't hire them on the case ("Surely, you can't be serious."  Oh, if only Henry had answered the way he is supposed to answer that comment!!)  But everyone (even Jules!) agrees they are idiots and sends them off, but not before Shawn can nab some of the papers of Juliet's desk (with the use of a comically large fan).

KURT FULLER!! Yes, I will have that reaction everytime Woody the coroner is on. Turns out Toby had a flash drive in his stomach.

Shawn: Thanks, Woody. Stay creepy!
Woody: You know I will.
(hurray!!)

Wow--- Lassiter actually has a crap list. And on that list: Olympia Dukakis.  Why? Who cares! Lassiter is having troubles with his computer..... turns out Dennis is hacking his computer. In case you were wondering, on Lassie's history: Cat Fancy, squirrelassassins.com, and something so disturbing it causes Gus to say "that man needs to find Jesus." HA! (By the way, check out http://www.squirrelassassins.com/ - hysterical!) Anywho, back to the flash drive. It's a bunch of law documents dealing with one of Roy's consipracy theories. Shawn finds a clue, made obvious by the "tilt and squint." But before he can get to that, Dennis's wife comes down to the office. (Love the deep voices they all put on in her presence)  The guys try to convince Dennis to come with them, but sex with his hot wife is too much to lose.

They go to wherever Shawn felt the clues led. Which is where they find the coolest truck ever. "It looks like a decepticon." It really does! All of the story has something to do with people spilling chemicals somewhere. To be honest, I've been geeking out too much to pay attention to this part of the story! I guess some guy spilt chemicals to get everyone out of an area so that he wouldn't have to share profits when he realized the town was sitting on a literal gold mine. As they figure it out.... an alien spaceship arrives!!

They run to the car, but the ship lands first.... except it's not a ship. It's a fancy helicopter owned by the corporate guy who spills things. Cue the "wrap up." Does it matter?  Not really. But I did enjoy the EMP/EPT confusion. As they are about to "take the guys out back" in comes Dennis with his nunchucks. Who did an ok job....until he smacked himself in the face. Unfortunately that knocked him out enough that when Lassie stormed in and told him to put the weapon down, he didn't... and then Lassie tased him. That man needs anger management.

Gus and Shawn have "boogie time" rub it all in Lassie's face. And now Henry wants to hire them. Things are looking up at Psych. Back at Dennis's nerd closet, Dennis, Gus and Shawn and Roy hang out. These four need to hang out more. Uh oh.... Dennis's wife just foing the closet and he confesses he is a "giant nerd" cuz she is a giant nerd too! Adorable. Bring these two back!

Next week..... John Michael Higgins guest stars! That means that the funny will be in overdrive.

This season is way better than last. My only thing..... will they PLEASE acknowledge the picture at the end of the season finale!!  I want more with the Yin/Yang storyline. I love the fun of the case to the week episodes, but the cliffhanger last season left me wanting to know a lot more about that case. I'm sure it isn't forgotten.... maybe another season finale?

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE: Top 6 perform. Again.

Oh my goodness!! No one is injured this week! What?? Crazy. Apparently Nigel decided to stop beating his dancers. That nutty Brit. There is also a fourth judge again this week (read: Time Filler). The lovely Toni Redpath! You will remember her as the judge during auditions who seemed really nice until she did choreo in Vegas, at which point I believe Billy called her Nazi Barbie. Let's hope she saw that. Just because it would be funny, not because I want her to be extra mean to Billy - though after last week's shenanigan's, I'm a little annoyed with Mr. Bell.  Anywhooooo... on to the dancing.

KENT: Allstar: Anya. Choreo: Jean Marc and France. Style: Cha Cha. Kent and the kissing everyone is cute.  But so close to weird. He is so little. The "random audience member" didn't look like a random audience member... just saying. Does everyone else think that Anya likes playing the cougar to Kent a little too much? Glad that Nigel has acknowledged that Kent has moved on to "man dancing." He has done a really good job at trying not to be a kid, especially when he needs to be. Listen.... they had some valid points of things Kent needs to still work on, but the boy isn't going anywhere.  He has done a great job at stepping up to the plate for each dance. His worse is still better than some other dancer's best. (*cough*Jose*cough*)

ROBERT: Allstar: Kathryn. Choreo: Stacey Tookey. Style: Contemporary. Why doesn't America like Robert? WHY?? He is a gorgeous dancer. And, well, just plain gorgeous. And he apologizes to inanimate objects when he kicks them, based on the rehersal footage. Which shows he is a better person than I am. I would have cursed that damn pole for exsisting. The move when Kathryn basically somersaulted while Robert held her on his sholder made me nervous. Oooo... and the twist ending... Kathryn is the soldier leaving. Good job Stacey. It was a really beautiful piece and, of course, beautifully danced. But of course, he will be bottom three. I don't get it.

(Side note: When did Mia become the Simon of the season?  I thought that was supposed to be Nigel's role.)

ADECHIKE: Allstar: Courtney. Choreo: Tyce. Style: Jazz. I love Courtney. She is sassy. Holy jump at the start of the dance. I really liked the routine. It was fun choreo. And I think that it was incredibly well danced. Adechike was very strong in it. Courtney was, of course, beautiful. But I am just not connecting with him. I don't know why. He is very cute and funny and a wonderful dancer. Oh well..... I cant explain it.

Did Billy just say that Lauren has named her bunny slippers?? Fantastic.

JOSE: Allstar: Comfort. Choreo: Marty Kuldeka & Dana Wilson. Style: HipHop (someone out there really loves Jose!) Comfort just said that Jose has no game!! Fabulous! (By the way, I know that I give Jose a hard time, it is not because I don't like him. He is adorable! But he has gotten through based on injuries!) Ooooo.. Otis Redding singing Try a Little Tenderness!! Who else is picturing Duckie dancing around the record store in Pretty in Pink right now? I'm not sure how I felt about the routine. I wanted to love it. I'm not if it was the routine or not. I agree with Nigel - it seemed floppy. Like it should have been a little tighter. Think of a Nappytabs routine - they have perfected a more lyrical hip hop routine, but still having some of the sharpness of the moves. This seemed like he was not trying at all. I don't know....

Watching Billy's solo and Emily just said "Woah...... Mom that guy is amazing!" And he is.

(Hey Ann, Kent chose an Elliot Yamin song for his solo... is he your favorite now? Teehee)

LAUREN: Allstar: Allison. Choreo: Tyce. Style: Broadway. Here is the real test for darling Lauren. Dancing alongside Alison. Apparently Tyce has been watching Damn Yankees, this is his second Damn Yankees routine in 3 weeks! Not complaining. Love this show! This routine seems like a sister act and that is a good thing. They seem to have a good connection. And while there were moments when Alison clearly outdanced Lauren, there were some moves where Lauren clearly outdanced Alison. They were really great and Lauren has proved that she is a just a solid all around dancer.

(Nigel just called the show American Idol! HA! Even funnier - Lauren saying it was because she sang so beautifully in her clip package)

BILLY: Allstar: Ade. Choreo: Stacey. Style: Contemporary. (Ok, this is wrong, but last week Louis CK did a HYSTERICAL bit about homeless guys in NYC on Louie, so when Billy said he was playing a homeless guy in this one I started giggling inapporpriately. Sorry.  Paying attention now.) How is Billy dancing with this hat covering his eyes? Billy and Ade look like opposites - Billy is shorter and lanky, Ade is tall and very strong. But together I have to say they danced really in sync. The moment in the routine after they discover they know each other was gorgeous! Really, truly, beautiful routine.  I forgive Billy for last week's drama. That was the highlight of Billy this season, by far. And another emotional and genius routine from Stacey. Thank you SYTYCD Canada, for giving her to us in the US of A. She is shiz. Love that Mia was like - hey... you are taking over for me!

JOSE & KENT:  Choreo: Spencer Liff. (adorable!!) Style: Broadway. Uh Oh. The judges just told Jose that he had no swagger in the last routine that required swagger and now he has to play the guy with game. If the ladies decide who get the girl it's gonna be Kent. Again, I hate to hate on Jose so much but I feel like this is another routine with a dancer and an allstar, but Kent is the allstar. He is clearly meant to dance this style. Which is what Adam just said. I bet Adam is DYING to choreograph this kid. As for Jose, he did a really decent job. If he had done that without Kent, it would have looked better for him.

LAUREN & ADECHIKE: Choreo: Jean Marc & France. Style: Fox Trot. I'm okay with the routine. I don't have much to say about it. There was some good moments, but some awkward moments as well. I obviously am not a ballroom expert, but after 7 seasons of the show I think I can speak with a very very small amount of authority. Lauren did better overall. But there were moments were she was very obviously NOT a ballroom dancer. Adechike's hands were weird (like Toni mentioned) and his arms were not extended like how I am pretty sure they are supposed to be. It made his frame seem, I don't know... misshapen?

BILLY & ROBERT: Choreo: Nakul Dev Mahajan. Style: Bollywood. So this is supposed to be two guys trying to be in a Bollywood movie. Um, Robert wins. I haven't seen the dance yet, btw. Just saying if they were casting a Bollywood movie, Billy would not be first choice. Sooooo..... Robert still wins I think. And apparently Toni thinks so because she just called him a "big cheesy hamburger." Hmmmm..... I'm hungry. Anywho... it was a great Bollywood routine. They were both really strong.

So overall, good routine. If Jose isn't going home tomorrow... well, I don't even know. Uh oh..... Lauren is with the medics. Seriously, I hope that she isn't hurt. It will be sad if our only girl goes home tonight!!

Thoughts?
